HOW TO MAKE: With Sympathy Card

Make this simple but effective With Sympathy card, as I find out on a too regular basis for my liking, you never know when you might need one!

1. Take a square white card blank, or make a square white card with left-side fold (what I call 'standard' card).

2. Chose a backing paper and cut a square about 0.5cm smaller in size than the card blank, and stick down with adhesive of your chose.

3. Take a pre-cut paper circular doily such as the ones from the Tea Party Collection by dovecraft, or cut a fancy circular lace doily using a die cutting machine.

4. Using a rubber or clear stamp, stamp your sentiment in the middle using a coordinating ink colour. Leave to dry then stick to card.

5. Use fabric or paper flowers to edge the middle part of the doily and fix with adhesive, and embellish flowers with gems. Then complete the look by stick alternative coloured gems around the circle to give it an elegant but attractive edge.

This is a very simple non-fussy card but can be adapted to your own designs using your own ideas, colours, and materials.

Thanks for reading xx
