Our 30th birthday cake

Hello lovelies,

Sorry for the lack of blogs this week, in all honesty I have not had much time to get crafting. I have been very busy as Steve and I are turning 30 this week, so last weekend we had a birthday party to celebrate. It was the first ever birthday party I've had and organised, and it appeared to be a great success. The hall was tastefully decorated with sparkly banners and gorgeous balloons from Bizarre Balloons in Stafford. We ate lots of yummy food from Fatsos and scrumptious cake.

I thought I would share the amazing cake that Tina at Love at First Bite made for us.  I am sooooooo pleased with it. No... I have not made this, I am not that good!! It was chocolate on the inside with white icing. The theme was characters from children's television shows we watched as kids.

On the top is Salem the cat from Sabrina the Teenage Witch, who our real cat is named after.

Here we have The Shoe People and He-Man

Care Bears and Kermit and Miss Piggy from The Muppets

Button Moon and Poddington Peas

"Down at the bottom of the garden,
Amongst the birds and the bees,
There live a lot of little people,
They call the Poddington Peas"....

I ALWAYS have to sing it when I think of it (sorry).

And last but not least, my personal favourite side featuring my favourite programme as a child Rainbow and Duck Tales

Unfortunately for us, Tina at Love at First Bite is closing down this September. Not through lack of business but because she is so good at cake decorating that she gets so many orders that she has very little time to spend with her toddler, so has decided to concentrate on family life for the time being. But we thank her very much for fitting in this last order for our party, it certainly was a talking point and a big hit with the guests.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my blog and hopefully I will be back really soon with some crafty makes of my own xx

Up & Away House Mouse

Hello lovelies,

How are you this lovely Sunday evening? Weather is a bit mixed but at least we don't need those woolly jumpers and coats just yet. Would think we are in the middle of autumn from the fashion featured in our clothes shops currently!

Anyway, tonight I am sharing with you this cutie. If you are not familiar this is a little House Mouse! They are available from Joanna Sheen in CD and decoupage sheets. This image however is from the House Mouse Triple CD-Rom in the Everyday 'flowers' section.

Unfortunately for us, at work we are losing our manager Carol at the end of this month to go onto pastures new and this is the card I have made to wish her luck.

I am entering this card in this week's CD Sunday Challenge "Quick and Cute" theme.

I hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by xx

Make a wish birthday bunny

Not had the chance to make any cards tonight, although I have been eagerly planning a few cards of the Christmas variety. I cannot believe it is August already and when September commences I'll have no choice but to get into the Christmas spirit otherwise no one will receive a card this year! My biggest problem is when I start my Christmas makes I find myself mumbling the odd festive variety "Tis the season to be jolly, fa la la la la la la la la..". See! Can't help myself...

This evening I was looking back through some pictures of commissions I've had this year and found another Holly Pond Hill cutie so thought I would share it with you. I am really into this CD from Joanna Sheen this week, mostly because I am still buzzing of the possibility of getting my mitts on the Christmas CD in just over a month's time.

Brief for this commission was: 40th birthday for granddaughter, female, extremely cute with cake and had to feature a bunny rabbit.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my blog xx

Super Little Cutie Baby Boy

Ever since the news of Holly Pond Hill Christmas CD coming in September hit my radar at the weekend I have been itching to have another go with my Holly Pond Hill CD. I am in love with the cute little bunnies and mice on there, sooo cute and I seriously spend so much time going "Awwww" and "oooooh" whenever I look through the images on it. In fact so far I think I have spent more time admiring the CD rather then crafting with it lol. That'll need to change!

Some people won't understand this but at the weekend I emailed Joanna Sheen herself about the then rumoured (now confirmed) Holly Pond Hill Christmas CD and I was so incredibly thrilled when she emailed back saying yes and it is lovely and yummy. It seriously made my weekend! Thanks, Joanna :)

Anyway here is an A5 sized card with a gorgeous little baby boy bunny from Holly Pond Hill I made this evening.

Hope you like it. I am entering it into the Joanna Sheen "Boys will be Boys" challenge.

I am always flabbergasted at the amazing talent showcased on that challenge blog and find it very inspirational. It has inspired me to have a go at this challenge and others. Wish me luck.

Thanks so much for passing by and looking at my blog xx

Time for Cake - Anything Goes Challenge

This weekend has been a very crafty one indeed. Recently I have been working on a qualification for work which has meant I've barely done any crafting and to top this off I have suffered with a muscle problem in my back. I decided I needed a break and I got down to business where I have been busy making some very girly pink, flowery, cake cards that I am in so in love with. I am not normally one to blow my own trumpet but I just love them. These are probably my most favourite makes I have made in a long time.

The kit used is 'Cupcake Boutique' from Dovecraft. I just love the colours and especially the mint green which is new to me and my craft stash, but I have to say there is a significant risk that become addicted to it.

You may have noticed that I haven't done much posting on my blog but I have decided as a mid-year resolution that I will make a concerted effort to get involved and have a few goes at some challenges. So anyway to my delight I was searching for some challenge blogs and I stumble across Anything Goes Challenge Blog which where is really appears anything goes!! A theme is set each each time and I was thrilled the theme this time was "Coffee Break / Food" perfect for this weekend's makes!!

Therefore, I have chosen the most appropriate card to enter into the #98 challenge. Here it is....

I really hope you like it, thank you so much for passing by. Any comments are greatly appreciated :) xx

Spots & Stripes Christening

Hello my lovelies,
I wanted to show you two matching christening cards I made for a girl and boy getting christened on the same day. I used the Papermania Capsule Spots and Stripes Pastel Collection for backing papers and die cut papers. In addition to this I used an embossing folders for added texture and hand cut decoupage of Forever Friends from the New Arrival collection from Do Crafts. Finished off with punches of cute little teddies, sheer opaque ribbon, silver mirror board and matching gems.

I would like to enter this into the Do Crafts Capsule Card Makers Challenge

Thanks for stopping by to look at my blog - any comments welcome and really appreciated xx
