Boofle Christmas Check This Out

I hope all who reads this is keeps safe in the impending storm. Doesn't even seem breezy here yet but still battening down the hatches just in case and keeping the cat inside, much to his annoyance!

Today's post is about my entry to the Winter Wonderland Challenge: Check This Out. I have followed this theme of check, tartan etc. with a backing paper of lovely red tartan with a gorgeous and a scrumptious Boofle decoupage topper. This design includes some gorgeous sparkly ribbon of two kinds, red glitter board and beautiful Christmas red square buttons.

Close up of the red tartan and sweet sentiment.

Thank you so much for looking xx

Carol Singing Bunnies

Evening to all of you on this chilly evening. So here is another Christmas card from me (sorry for all those that don't 'do' Christmas in October). My local station Signal 1 Radio actually played 'Last Christmas' by Wham! yesterday afternoon on the Drive By show and because of this I don't feel too bad about all this Christmas crafting that is occurring on my craft desk.

Here is my entry for the Winter Wonderland Christmas Challenge : Carol Singers. This amazingly cute image is from Christmas in Holly Pond Hill CD by Joanna Sheen. I have printed it on glossy paper and used matching backing papers and silver mirror board as matt and layering.

I have embellished it with punched stars and this gorgeous ivory ribbon with pearl beads woven into it.

Thanks for stopping by. Any comments gratefully received xx

EDIT: This card made top 3 in the challenge!! :)

Button It Up! GDT card for Joanna Sheen

Hello lovelies,

I hope everyone is OK this weekend? My weekend has been pretty much written off with a horrendous migraine which keeps coming and going but I'm surviving :) So sorry this blog entry is a little bit late...

I am VERY excited to blog my very first Guest Design Team card for the new Joanna Sheen Challenge: Button It Up! I am so incredibly privileged to design for Joanna Sheen as it is my most favourite and purchased brand of crafting materials. Thank you to the other design team members for making me feel so welcome and as usual amazing samples girls.

I have used an image from House Mouse Triple CD-Rom, adding some vintage looking backing paper from my stash and gorgeous red vintage lace (it really is vintage!!) Also, the obligatory buttons and a poinsettia embellishment from Hobby Craft. I am very pleased with the result.

If you are a fellow crafter you should totally get involved in the challenge! There is the chance of winning a £15 voucher but only if you use a Joanna Sheen image/product on your card. If you put 'GDT' after your entry you may even have a chance to be a guest on the design team, just like me.

Thanks for visiting xx

To the moon and back

Morning all. Hope you are all having a super weekend despite the constant rain we seem to be having.

Just a quick note to show my CD Sunday Challenge Entry for the theme 'To the Moon and Back'. I have missed the deadline due to being very busy but I thought I would share it anyway. This clean and simple card has been made using the Forever Friends Retro 3-Disc collection from Do Crafts. I think it is super cute.

I have decoupaged the image and added a touch of gold glitter to the stars, backed the image with gold mirror board and added some gold coloured gems. I really love it.

A close up of the decoupage and a sparkly bit of glitter on the stars.

Thanks for coming to look xx

So Sweet!

Hello there. Hasn't it got very very chilly out there today?! Brrrrrrrr... But at least it makes it easier to make Christmas cards when it's getting all Autumnal and chilly. I keep trying to make them because I have so many to do and not so much time.

Today I have been working on my entry for the Joanna Sheen Challenge - So Sweet. One thing I love about challenges that everybody interprets the theme differently. I have interpreted it as cute but chosen this sweet Christmas House Mouse image that features a candy cane.

Sorry that the photography is not fantastic, poor lighting at this time of night. As you can see this creation is very glittery.

I have die cut a decorative frame in red glitter card as a frame for an image and edged this with clear gems. The banking paper is something from my stash with red stars and blue snowflakes which seems to match lovely. I used a stamped sentiment with blue ink "Sweet Wishes". And added two little navy blue ribbon bows either side of the decorative frame.

I associate candy canes being hard and shiny. So I used some glossy accents to glaze the candy cane. The above picture you can see the sheen. It's so lovely. As my boyfriend Stephen said "It's just the ticket!".

Thank you for looking. I hope you like my card. My next card for the Joanna Sheen Challenge will be my GDT card, how exciting!!! Finally I just want to say that I am so so grateful for everyone who leaves me a comment, they are so lovely. They make me smile and I appreciate them so much. Thank you xx

Buttons and Bows

Evening! Glued to my craft desk since this morning. Not literally you will be pleased to know. Tonight I have been making my entry to this week's Winter Wonderland Challenge with the theme of Buttons & Bows.

I have just realising that my last (and only other entry) to Winter Wonderland Challenge was Joanna Sheen's Out of the Hutch and so is this one! This is not intentional but has probably happened because I have been itching to cut out the little blighters. They are sooo ridiculously cute but unusual. I don't remember seeing my guinea pigs on the Christmas cards I've received. Having said that every card I get this year will probably have a guinea pig on it now.

I have decoupaged the image and used green glitter card as a backing, along with some red Christmas papers from my stash. I have used green glitter ribbon  from Dovecraft as the bow and some gorgeous red buttons (and a few green gems).

Here you can see the detail in the decoupage giving it definition

A close up of the buttons and bow. Simple but effective.

Thanks for looking. Next time I will try use another character for the challenge!! xx

Crafting Musketeers: Christmas In October

Hello, Hello! Hope all you lovelies are ok this weekend? Lovely and sunny here in Stafford this Sunday. Woke up today to lovely news that I have been selected to be a Guest on the design team for the Joanna Sheen Challenge for the next challenge. I am so honoured! I'm sure I'll be blogging my first ever design card in the near future. Last week I had a very good Autumn Fair where I met some beautiful people as always, where I mostly chatted about crafting of various sorts to anyone who would listen! LOL

Yesterday was World Card Making Day you know, unfortunately I was very busy yesterday with family so today I made my cards instead. Crafting Musketeers are running a Christmas in October challenge at the moment. Which makes me smile because crafters do Christmas every month from about July don't they?! What a wonderful prize they have this time of ProMakers.

Anyway, today's make for this lovely challenge is another cute House Mouse card from the Triple CD Rom. As you will see I have FINALLY got my mitts on the LaLa Land Crafts Heart bunting die and it is so cute.

A close up of the added glitter to this super cute picture!

Thanks for looking, hope you like my make xx
