H is for Hedgehog

Wow! Two posts in one day. I recently treated myself to the new Pollyanna Pickering A Winter's Tale CD Rom, mostly because it has images of otters and everyone knows I am otterly obsessed with those little furry webbed feet cuties. I am however super impressed with the cd - it is otterly jampacked! Okay, okay, I will quit with the otter references now... I have always loved Pollyanna especially after attending a talk she did a few years ago and being lucky enough to meet her afterwards. A lovely and truly talented, inspirational lady.

I was thrilled when I realised the current CD Sunday challenge is Something beginning with H and I could use this beautiful hedgehog image.

Materials used:

Image, sentiment & stripy paper from Pollyanna Pickering A Winter's Tale CD-ROM
7 x 7 white card blank
Brown card and glittered leaves paper from stash

All White House Mouse

Surprise! I'm back! Some of you will know that I have been unable to make cards for a while due to our house being renovated, my CD-ROM drive breaking, our printer being blocked by a huge roll of carpet and generally everything has prevented me in one way or another. This led me to resigning from the design teams I was representing *sad face*. Soo I haven't made many cards since last year, only the odd one here and there, and boy, have I missed it! A lot of my craft things are still boxed  but I am really pleased (and relaxed!) to be back to card making even though it has taken me hours to upload my photographs from my camera lol.

Anyway, here is my long awaited card and guess who features on it? The gloriously cute House Mouse. The theme this time was "All White" which seemed daunting but I have made something I am happy with...

Materials used:

Image from House Mouse CD-Rom 3 disc (disc two)
7 x 7 white card blank
White Centura Pearl card with pink/silver sheen.
White card from stash
Leaves 6 x 6 embossing folder from Crafts Too.
Sentiment embossing folder free with a magazine.
Butterfly cut and embossing punch set from Floral Punch. Love these but only cut paper unfortunately.
White Ribbon and gems.

Lavender and Lace Gruffies & Guests #18

Hello! It has been a long time since I last made a blog post. We moved house shortly before Christmas and my craft stuff has been boxed away, as well as being  without a desk.
A few days ago I got my desk so I got really excited because it meant I would be able to finally join in with the Gruffies & Guest Challenge. This time the theme is Lavender and Lace, as chosen by Lesley. Once again our Design Team has come up trumps with some lovely designs.

I personally have found it to be a drama to get my make complete, and I was starting to think that my excitement was a bit premature:

1. I couldn't find my papers so had to use scraps of paper, from my scrap box, to make a design.
2. I couldn't find any lace. When we moved I shoved all my ribbons in a large box and it took me nearly three hours to rummage through to find only a scrap of white lace that was suitable. I feel almost ashamed to be a lace maker with no lace!
3. My CD drive in my laptop went bust so I couldn't print any images. In the end my boyfriend printed one sheet from his computer.

But anyway here is my card:

I used the Gruffies and Hoppers CD for the lovely image, A scrap of the matching paper I had and matching sentiment. I used other papers from stash. Lilac paper flowers from Hobbycraft which were my favourite but are all used up now (sad face). Lace, pearls and little ribbon from my stash. Finally I couldn't resist using iridescent glitter on the lilacs, as everyone knows I love glitter!

To join in with the challenge you must use a House Mouse designs image. For further rules see the blog but there are two wonderful prizes up for grabs this time:

Raise a glass to the New Year

Here is my first DT of the year for Sparkles Challenge. This time the theme is "Raise a glass to the New Year" which is basically anything drink related - from tea, cocoa, hot chocolate, alcohol etc. Again I cannot resist the cuteness of House Mouse and have selected this gorgeous image.

I love the sentiment which suits the image perfectly and I am so happy with the cute little purple flowers which I think gives it a bright and summery feel. Enough to give you a wonderful positive feeling for the New Year.

If you want to join in with the challenge the prizes this time are:

$10 gift voucher from Di's Digis

Di's digi

and £10 from Craftybren's Embroidered Embellishment.

Thanks for looking Xx

Use Buttons or Bows (or both)

Happy New Year! Hopefully by the time you read this we will be in our new home and settled in.

So here we are with the first Gruffies and Guests Challenge for 2015 with the theme of "Use Buttons or Bows (or both)" chosen by DT member Sandra.

I have taken the image from House Mouse Triple CD. I chose it because one of my favourite flowers are daffodils, especially the ones with the big trumpets. I thought the image was adorable with the matching backing paper. I have used both a coordinating pale yellow ribbon with  polka-dot bow and some blue buttons. I love using buttons on cards. I also added a bit of iridescent glitter to the rain - any regular readers will know iridescent glitter is my favourite!

The prize this time is a voucher from Scribble and Scrap Crafts. Hope to see your entry!

Thanks for visiting Xx
